Flanges are protruding ridge, lip, rim, or collar types used to strengthen an object, guide movements, or securely bolt machinery and connect pipes and valves.
Various Types of Flanges:
Weld Neck Flange: Provides high strength and is used in high-pressure and high-temperature applications.
Slip-on Flange: Slides over the pipe and is welded on both sides. Commonly used in low to medium pressure systems.
Threaded Flange: Has internal threads to connect with threaded pipes. Used in small diameter, high-pressure systems.
Socket Weld Flange: Pipe is inserted into a socket and welded. Used in small diameter, high pressure systems.
Blind Flange: Has no bore. Used to close the end of a pipeline or vessel.
Lap Joint Flange: Works with a stud end. Allows easy alignment and rotation. Used in low-pressure and non-critical applications.
Reducing Flange: Connects pipes of different sizes. Reduces flow from a larger to a smaller diameter.
Long Weld Neck Flange: Has a longer neck than the standard weld flange. Used in high stress and specialised applications.
Slip-On Welding Flange: Combination of slip-on and weld neck (short-hub).
Socket Weld Reducing Flange: For reducing pipe sizes in socket weld applications.
Orifice Flange: Used for flow measurement with an orifice plate.
Spectacle Blind Flange: Combines a blind flange and a spacer in one piece. Used for isolation and maintenance.

Loose Flange: Swivels around the pipe; reduces bolt stress and facilitates alignment.
Square Flange: Used in special applications where space is limited or for non-pipe connections.
Reducing Lap Joint Flange: Used for different pipe sizes with a lap joint design.
Flat Face Flange: Has a flat sealing surface; used for low pressure applications.
